Here at Charter Heating, we work across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Middlesex to provide a range of professional gas and heating solutions. We are boiler experts, and a large part of our role involves servicing boilers. But what exactly does this entail? And why do boilers need to be serviced? Well, to answer these questions, this is our guide to boiler servicing.
First of all, what is boiler servicing?
Boiler servicing can only be carried out by a professional and experienced gas engineer, with the correct registrations and paperwork. This is because boiler servicing is an essential maintenance routine that can help to ensure that all parts and systems are working effectively. A boiler service that is not completed correctly, or that cuts corners can lead to huge gas risks and potentially cause danger or harm to the property and its inhabitants.
What does boiler servicing entail?
First of all, a boiler service with us begins by removing the outer casing. This allows our engineers to take a look at the inner components to check functionality. We will examine each component individually for signs of wear and tear, damage and function range.
Secondly, we will conduct a full gas pressure check. This will help us make sure that no gas is leaking from your boiler system, causing a potentially lethal problem. We can also make sure that your boiler is operating at the correct pressure and is working efficiently.
Next, we will fully inspect your flue. A blocked flue can cause a real problem for your central heating system, so we will make sure it is clear and free of debris. In addition, we will test your emissions to make sure that your boiler is still performing safely.
Finally, we will fully clean all of the components to make sure that they are not holding onto tiny particles of dust and debris. These can cause a huge problem in terms of how efficiently your boiler system is working.
Once we have finished you can rest assured that we will leave your boiler exactly as we found. We will also provide written evidence of the tests we conducted and the results to make sure you are kept up to date with your boilers condition. Any parts that are faulty or worn we will discuss with you and work out a plan for repair, that will fit into your schedule.
